Coaching can help you to learn from your experiences, build on your strengths and shape your future, but often many of us don't invest enough time in ourselves.

As a coach for over 20 years, Ruth has worked with executives and professionals across many sectors and at various stages in their careers, supporting them to boost their performance and fulfil their potential. She works with individuals and teams to develop greater understanding of themselves and the impact they have on others, releasing their resources to maximise their potential and embrace change.

Coaching with Ruth will enable you to reframe your perceptions and decide your priorities, helping you to reconcile them with your needs, and those of your organisation and customers.



How it Works

We meet initially, at no cost, to explore our expectations of each other, establish how we will work together, and see if we get on. We will draft a plan of action, and once you feel comfortable that we can work together, we will clarify what you want to achieve from our sessions.

The first coaching phase will include some diagnosis into you, to deepen our understanding of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and your learning style. This will involve a variety of assessment methods such as pyschometric questionnaires such as MBTi; TDi; TA,; Firo B; EI; 360° feedback, observation and Neurolinguistic Programming - to help me to gain a clearer picture of you and your situation, and deepen your own self-awareness. We will then jointly identify aims for your learning and development, and agree realistic plans, timelines and follow up actions.

You will receive ongoing support through face to face meetings, by telephone and over email, typically over a 6-9 month period. This will encourage you to take increasing initiative for your learning and development.

Ruth works with executives and professionals across many sectors and at various stages in their careers, supporting them to boost their performance and fulfil their potential.

With 20 years of experience in the field of result-oriented coaching and consulting, Ruth is an expert in the strategic design and implementation of a wide range of leadership interventions, including: coaching, facilitation and mentoring, team building, 360 degree feedback, psychometric profiling and leadership and management development.

Ruth has worked at a senior level in many multinational organisations and in a number of diverse roles (from fashion buyer to educator to HR/L&D). Her experience spans professional services, retail, financial, consultancy, charity and education sectors. She has strong commercial acumen and in-depth understanding and knowledge of (people) behaviour and organisations.

Ruth has a master’s degree in Strategic Resource Management & Consulting and works independently as a coach and talent development consultant. She is a part time tutor at Birkbeck, London University on their Management Diploma. Ruth is a member of the Association for Coaching.(MAC) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (FCIPD). She has continually focused on her own learning and development and applies a variety of techniques, tools and methods.

Case Studies



Case Study 1 - Coaching

Situation

World authority in healthcare, wanted to develop his capability to lead and manage diverse teams, use his and his colleagues time effectively and manage his own career.

Action

Ruth provided an indiviual and team diagnosis and proved a coaching programme to address the key issues identified, and also ran team workshops to develop self awareness, engagement and cross team working.

Outcome

Enhanced leadership performance, resulted in him being offered a main board director and implentation of a robust career plan. The performance of the teams has measureably increased and indivuduals are more effective and committed.


Case Study 2 - Improving Performance

Situation

There was insufficient accountability about results, performance issues were ignored and managers were often reluctant to give feedback, tackle poor performance or give praise. Appraisals were conducted sporadically and inconsistently across the organisation.

Action

Ruth designed a new Performance Management system and process, embedding the competencies and organisation’s values. She worked in partnership to ensure the language and process enable and empower staff to make the culture shift to high performance. She designed and delivered training for managers and staff with practical and realistic case studies, skills practice, some coaching techniques and how to deal with difficult issues. Many of the skills learnt are applicable to working with clients.

Outcome

Organisation performance has increased as a result of the creation of a high-performance workplace culture with clear targets and clarity of expectations, resulting in increased organizational performance. People are now engaged and motivated, and accountability for performance has shifted from managers to individuals.


Case Study 3 - Organisational Effectiveness

Situation

The business needed to achieve a step change in service delivery, become more commercial and save head count costs.

Action

Ruth worked with senior management to redesign HO and regional structure. She also redefined key roles, and created a robust competency framework to assess and develop people, and she designed and ran assessment centres, with line managers, whom she trained to assess and evaluate candidates for appointment to new roles.

Outcome

New ways of working have reenergized and refocused the organisaton and major cost savings achieved. It has and continues to appoint better people The re-organisation programme was completed within a short timeframe and appointed staff are clear about their roles. The new Competency Framework is now used as an integral part of performance management and development and used across the whole of the organisation.
